Learning Guides:

Before you write a unit exam, you must submit all assignments leading up to the exam. All submissions MUST be very neat and well organized. If you can't figure out a question, you should be researching, then asking for help. You can ask for help via Moodle messaging or by email.

Projects:

Projects allow you to make some choices on how you wish to enhance your understanding. As you work through units, look for projects that will enhance your understanding in areas or interest and/or weakness.

Exam Supervision:

Quizzes and Unit Tests can be done on your own (not supervised). Use them as practice – ie. give them a try first, then refer to notes if you need a little extra help. Keep track of where you needed help and review prior to your second try and/or unit exam. Midterm and Final exams are "closed book" and require supervision. Supervision can occur with any of the Sea to Sky Online Teachers (located in each of SD48’s highschools) or virtually over zoom. If you are unable to access one of these resources to write your exams, you will need to find a teacher in your location that will supervise your exams. Please have them e-mail me and I will send them the required information.

For zoom invigilation you will require a computer with a functioning camera and microphone. You will be required to leave your camera and microphone on for the duration of the exam while sharing your computer screen with the teacher.

Resources:

No textbook is required, as all required material is included. If you have any questions regarding a concept covered in this course, please reach out via Moodle message or email.

Student Responsibilities:

  • To complete all assignments to the best of their ability (partially completed assignments will not be accepted)
  • To complete assignments in the order in which they are assigned, unless given written instruction otherwise
  • To review the feedback given on assessed assignments and complete corrections as required
  • To maintain regular contact with teachers
  • To work within mutually agreed upon timeframes
  • To ask for help and clarification when needed

Goal setting:

This course is self-paced and self-directed. Students should plan on working 5-6 hours a week on this course. It is highly recommended that the student create a calendar of monthly, weekly and even daily goals. Contact your teacher if help is needed doing this.
