Workplace Math 10
Course Outline:
This math course focuses on everyday math and math that is useful to know in the workplace. During this course you will also develop skills in the area of personal awareness and responsibility. Workplace Math 10 is a practical math course that meets the graduation requirements for grade 10 math in the BC Education Curriculum and is fully online. The Unit assignments needed to be self marked with either a study block teacher or at a connect session. Face to face support is available. The course is self paced and students have 1 year to complete the course.

Learning Guides & Unit Tests:
Before you write a unit exam, you must send me all assignments leading up to the exam. All submissions MUST be very neat and well organized. If you can’t figure out a question, you should be researching, then asking for help.
Exam Supervision:
All exams are “closed book” and require supervision. Please contact a teacher with Sea to Sky Online School to arrange writing the Unit Tests and Midterm/Final Exam
Resources:
There is NO textbook required for this course. You do need a basic scientific calculator.
Keys to Success:
- Set a schedule so that you are working on math either everyday or every second day. There should be no big gaps, with the hope of catching up. This is VERY important!
- Actively work through each lesson, trying examples and reflecting on material.
- Use the Learning Guide as your tool for documenting your understanding. Lay it out neatly and well organized.
- Make sure you understand any test question you get wrong. If you can’t figure it out – ASK for help!
- Be sure to use your Moodle message system for regular communication with your instructor.
